Proton: Do you Mind?

Can pH control the brain?
The easiest way to see this is probably to test the thesis from the endpoints. Let’s say that the cell volume of the brain to 40% consists of gill cells and that some of them have the capability to regulate pH in the brain, what will then happen if they stop doing that? Or if they are forced to do it cause a lack of substrate.

Or if the proton is the main switch in any organisms driven by proton motive force, then what happens if we change the balance for example ad some extracellular H+. Would the mechanism or substance that control the pH of the pH controller in the brain controls the function of the brain?

Well if our cellular life are based on proton gradients isn’t our consciousness is based on protons then? The difference of the extracellular and intracellular controls much of the life potential, then the gradient and order and the Ionic order will control the longevity. Does it sounds reasonable since up to 20-80% of the cellular resting metabolic rate is required to redistribute  ions through Na+ / K+-ATP-dependent pumping system. (Rolfe and Brand, 1996; Priebe et al., 1996; Rolfe and Brown, 1997).

Girls and Women ADD (and ADHD)

From ADHD & ADD youtube

Girls tend to be overlooked when it comes to medical treatment of ADD cause a girl with ADD does not show the typical symptoms like a hyperactive young boy. Many blamed themselves instead and exhausted over the day falls into sleep frustrated. And the next morning the frustration is there again and says “dog mourning” like an dyslectic cacophony.

To not act out the frustration can often cause a feeling deeper sadness that easily transforms into something else: emotional disturbances, dysphoria and depression are more common with girls who have ADHD than with boys, if you ask me it is because the boys tend to act out the frustrations much more and then much easier can forget it. While girls with ADD to a higher degree blame themselves for their incapabilities, imagined or real.  If  the burden was to heavy to early, it might give harder but more brittle bones in a mental way and show up later as instabilities.

Addiction begins with ADD is not an old saying but in some 100 years it might be. A girl who’s does not feels confident with herself probably to a much higher degree than other have a need to be accepted fast and strong. That need can as the society looks today puts her in dangerous situations.

Physical exercise might be one way to increase the BDNF levels and increase the relaxation afterwards, giving a greater potential to grow in.

National resource centre on ADHD: A excellent page about girls and women with ADD &ADHD.

The history of ADHD actually starts with ADD.

A proton driven engine in you – ATPase – the molecular turbine

From Ohm to Aum when the energy flow is the crown.

The  engines of the the universal chemical energy source

ATP synthase is a protondriven molecular machine that works like a turbine to convert the energy stored in a proton gradient into chemical energy stored in the bond energy of ATP. This video shows how it works. F1Fo-ATP synthases produce the universal chemical energy source adenosine triphosphate (ATP) in most living organisms. They convert the energy stored in an electro-chemical gradient of protons or sodium ions into ATP and operate by a unique rotary mechanism. The ion gradient is utilized to generate torque of the machine’s rotor part against the stator part. This rotation induces conformational changes in the catalytic sites which are instrumental for ATP synthesis.

Schizophrenia and available energy – Exergy

Not just the ATP synthases are changed in Schizophrenia. Bellow the energy/metabolism related genes and proteins changed. They have been revealed as differentially expressed in transcriptome and proteome studies of Schizophrenia brain tissue

ADHD – A closeup on Methylphenidate – Concerta

Since the ADHD medication to some seems suspect and strange, we will continue with the analysis of the Methylphenidate molecular whereabouts, we once more consult the electron microscope to see I the backlight beauty reveal any crystalline secrets to the trained eye or to the complete novice. Here you can find the first two Concerta videos. Are there any deeper conspirational themes in the molecular structures of centrally acting medications against the symptoms of ADD and ADHD?  Or is that just an invention by the constipated minds who want to sell their version of why some kids are getting dramatically better by this and medication like this?

In that case they maybe want you to buy it on behalf of the kid’s health without offering something better. Or do they have anything better to offer? Then where are the proofs of that?

Is it crystalline clear or is there any suspect pattern?

The last video is from Dr Russell Barkley who talks about ADHD: To medicate or not. And what might happens if you do ant don’t.

Celebrities with ADHD: Ty Pennington Ty talks about his ADHD and medication.  Coming up ADHD medications and the efficiency…

The history of ADHD ADHD is not new at all; the Scottish physician Alexander Cricthon described the symptoms in already 1798 before becoming the personal physician to the Tsar Alexander. Coming up later the history of ADHD medicine

BDNF – GDNF is Dead – Science and Nuts is here

Long live GDNF – BDNF!

We have moved

Hopefully we can concentrate on what we do best write,  and nothing else. The new URL is a combination of H2S – Hydrogen sulfide and AMPK : 5′ AMP-activated protein kinase  or 5′ adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase or simply just AMPK, it mirrors what we  hopefully will write about in the in the time to come and possibly even a severe lack of fantasy.

Technorati, technorati tags, Thanks for al the links UrbotaInskränkthet. and al of you nice supporting ppl. Originals, Please be aware that we have changed the UR. And a word about wordpress.com to change URL with just a few click and most of the post and stuffs working right away -fantastic. Nice and very good, since moving can be quiet a job with al the redirect 301….

The Science of a private domain

Posted by gdnf on August 3, 2010
Posted in: General. Tagged: change url, private domain, wordpress.

We have been kindly advised to move to a private domain in order to have a better control of the “blog brand” and to make any later moves easier. Hmmm, sounds like a good idea to stay at wordpress but at the same time own the blog Url.

-Anyone having a good suggestions of what URL this blog should choose?

Most probably is better to move while the blog is pretty young, and since we no longer are one of the top 100 science blogs in Technorati (thanks to a long relaxing summer vacation from the blog) we can as well change url now and build up the authority in the own brand instead, or is it a bad idea?

Pssst. I The technorati tags are not updating any more, most probably because some stoopid change i have done to the blog, but i relly cant find it atm, and i am also to shy to ask some of the al the skilled persons out there, maybe it is better to just forget it and just move on…

Medication against ADHD and ADD has been so discussed from time to time, so I decided to do some investigation on my own. Is there a secrets buried in the Concerta, Ritalin? Here you will find the complete truth revealed as it is. Nothing more, nothing less.

Here you will find Methylphenidate in crystallized form in a back-light to reveal any hidden secrets beside that it can help, man woman and children with ADHD to a better life.

Concerta take One – any conspiration detected?

Concerta take 2 – Atoms in the swing any secret moves?

Or is it just so simple methylphenidate can help some young persons to concentrate in school, to be calmer when needed, maybe that’s the reason why WHO states that this medication is essential. The story continues ….  with the history of ADHD and ADHD medicine’s.

Narcotic Drugs and neurotrophic substances

Posted by gdnf on July 19, 2010
Posted in: Addiction, Ibogaine. Tagged: Addiction, Drugfree Life, GDNF, Heroin, Ibogaine, Methadone, Morphine, Neurotrophic Factors, painkillers.

Can brain grow up and heal from a destructive addiction to narcotic drugs? Yes, probably, some ways seems hopeful but yet dangerous. Ibogaine up-regulates the feedbackloop of GDNF (Glia Derived Neurotrophic Factor) in the brain and it stays up-regulated for at least some months and this seems to be the mechanisms of the antiaddictive effects of Ibogaine. But Ibogaine is also associated with some fatalities when taken in a non-medical setting.

David Graham Scott has been addicted to drugs for nearly 20 years, or as he puts it, “four on heroin and the rest on methadone.” You will stay alive but can you really feel the life? David decides to try the potentially dangerous substance Ibogaine.

Filmed by Scott himself over a five-year period, this emotionally charged documentary follows his double life as a heroin abuser and filmmaker, his pattern of deceit with his family, his battle to conquer methadone, and the fight to finally beat his addiction. His desperation to overcome drugs causes him to risk all on an unauthorized, controversial, and potentially lethal method that promises to limit withdrawal symptoms to one day—but sends the patient on a soul-searching, gut-wrenching 36-hour detox. Some content may be objectionable, and some language may be offensive. But not more offensive than the reality it comes from.

Broadcast by BBC 2004 (One Life). Gold Medal winner New York Film Festivals 2005.

Dr. Deborah Mash speaks about ibogaine and addiction. A short Clip from: BBC’s Horizon Special Psychedelic Experience. Dr Deborah Mash comments Voices from the underground about a mystic substance that is supposed to have more or less magic effects on hardcore addicts. Is it true or just another nut from the crackheads? You tell me.
