Question about Haloperidol

The main effects of Haldol is probably the blockade of the Dopamine-2 receptor (D2) Haldol is pretty effective in doing that and there is no daught about that, but in the long run Haldol up-regulates the D2 receptors (2). I can hardly imagine a stronger way to create a state of dependence than a substance that amplify the problem it is said to work against, but masking this side effect as long as you continue to take Haldol.

Nature News wrote: “Antipsychotics deflate the brain”, but they don’t write about how this medication up regulates the density of the D2 receptor and that this actually have a potential to increase the symptoms in the persons using this drug. That gives me some questions about Haldol (Haloperidol)

1 If you take a medicine to conquer a syndrome caused by high D2 activity, does the medicine cause more sickness if it up regulates the D2 receptor?

2 Is it a possibility that Haldol actually makes the consumer sicker in the long run and by the unregulated D2 density also more dependent of Haldol?

3 Some sources on the net claims that Haldol is not addictive, is it any scientific proof for that statement?

4 Since Haldol causes the fastest decrease in brain size ever recorded, how shall we interpret this result beyond the manufacturer’s rhetoric’s?

4.1 That decreases in brain size causes increased independence or

4.2. A decrease in brain size causes decreased independence and probably also an increased probability of addiction?

If you don’t know how – then you are really stupid
Many drugs have together with alcohol been said to destroy brain cells, or decrease the density. That could be true in some cases, but the fastest way to lose brain tissue and cells are not a narcotic drug, it is not alcohol, nor is it tobacco, it is in fact a substance that is said to be a medicine. It is a medicine that many persons have been using time after time and some have been forced to.
It was said that this medication doesn’t create addiction, but i have never seen any scientific proof of that, so where does the sayings emanate from? It seems addictive to the sellers of the product so why does this substance not create any addiction and most of all is it ever possible. Is it ever un-addictive to get a smaller brain? Does it ever create independence? Or is it just medicine that blocks its own side effects until it is taken away?

The Schizophrenia medication Haldol – Haloperidol is the shit!

One theory links a higher activity of dopamine especially the dopamine-2 receptor to psychosis and schizophrenia. Haloperidol are highly effective in decreasing the activity in the D2 receptor in a very short time, so after all there is some logics in that, at least if you are a seller of this product and don’t care about the rest. What the seller don’t might tell you is that this product is responsible for the fastest ever recorded shrinkage in brain volume ever recorded, after 1 hour a decrease in size could be detected in striatum.

“This is the fastest change in brain volume ever seen,” says Andreas Meyer-Lindenberg, professor of psychiatry and psychotherapy at the University of Heidelberg in Mannheim, Germany, and a lead author on the report in Nature Neuroscience”

Questions about Haldol – More is coming up..

The interesting thing is that if the dopamine theory actually are true, then Haloperidol actually will make you sicker and at the same time hide this side-effect as long as you take the medication since it upregulates the D2 receptors (2) I can hardly think of a stronger effects in creating addiction than decrease the density of the brain and increase the receptors that are said to be causative of the psychosis.

If you read Nature News you will see that they write about that: Antipsychotics deflate the brain, but they don’t write about how this medication upregulates the density of the D2 receptor and that this actually have a potential to increase the symptoms in the persons using this drug.
